The Xiaomi Redmi note 12  also comes in a series. Well, there are four phones in the initial batch at least. The Pro, Pro+, and Explorer Edition have all been introduced in China, joining the Redmi Note 12.

The information on each of them is provided below, and we’ll keep this piece updated as new phones are added to the lineup and the first information on their worldwide release becomes available.

Here is everything we currently know about the Redmi Note 12 series.

When Will the Redmi Note 12 Become Available Worldwide?

On October 27, the first four Redmi Note 12 smartphones were unveiled in China. On October 31, they went on sale.

Almost exactly one year had passed since the Redmi Note 11’s release in October 2021 for its debut. We may have to wait a similar amount of time for the Note 12 series to arrive outside of China, possibly as late as early 2023.

That phone took a few months to launch globally, arriving on the European market only in early 2022.

However, it appears that India at least will receive the phones sooner, as Redmi India has already teased the Note 12’s launch on Twitter and has a sign-up website for launch notifications.

Although a release date is not specified, it is likely that the phones will reach India before the year is through if the firm has already started to tease things.

What is the Redmi Note 12 going to cost?

We now have the prices for the three models in the Chinese market, along with rough conversions to the prices in other markets:

Redmi Note 12: Starting at ¥1,199 ($170/£145/€165/13,500)

The Note 12 Pro: Starting at ¥1,699 (about $230, £200, €230, or ₹19,500).

The Note 12 Explorer Edition: starts at ¥2,399 (about $330, £285, €330, or ₹27,500).

As always, keep in mind that these conversions are very rough estimates and that prices outside of China are frequently higher. However, it offers you a general idea of what to anticipate.

Redmi 12 Pro

The second phone in the line and the most entry-level Pro model is called the Pro. The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, used in this device along with 6, 8, or 12GB of RAM and 128 or 256GB of storage, powers all Pro variants.

The display is identical to that of the entry model. One of the primary areas where the device falls short of its Pro stablemates is the 5000mAh battery, which should provide respectable longevity and very quick 67W wired charging as well.

The Pro employs a 50Mp Sony IMX766 sensor for its primary camera, which has an aperture of f/1.9 with OIS. This is the other significant difference between the two cameras.

The other lenses, though, are the same across the board: a 16MP selfie camera on one side, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

Redmi 12 Pro+

The Pro+ doesn’t significantly alter the formula. The only difference in performance is that RAM is only offered in 8 or 12GB sizes, and storage is limited to 256GB.

The battery is identical to the Pro’s, however, 120W charging is more rapid.

The camera also receives a significant upgrade: the 200Mp Samsung ISOCELL HPX primary sensor has a much wider f/1.65 aperture.

Since 200Mp camera sensors are still relatively new, it is unknown how well this camera will stand up. However, because it can merge 16 pixels into one, it should provide a noticeable improvement over the Pro’s camera.

Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition

The Explorer Edition, on the other hand, differs from the Pro+ in two significant ways. First off, it has a much smaller 4300mAh battery, which means it won’t last as long.

However, that is necessary to make room for the ridiculously quick 210W wired charging support, currently the fastest we’ve seen on a phone. Additionally, it only comes pre-configured with 256GB of storage and 8GB of RAM.

Verdict

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 is a fantastic affordable option that has some of everything that buyers typically anticipate.

The device’s impressive set of cameras is supported by a powerful chipset and RAM pair in addition to a sizable battery, enabling endless shooting hours for individual users.

The Redmi Note 12 from Xiaomi is offered in a variety of colors, including Black, White, and Blue. Keep checking back as we’ll be adding to this post as new information becomes available.
