  1. You can only transfer naira amounts and not kobo amounts. For example, you cannot transfer NGN75.72 instead you can transfer NGN75.00. 
  2. Transfer of airtime should be from NGN50.00 to NGN5,000.00 in a single transaction.
  3. Your transfer limit per day to either a single MTN account or multiple MTN accounts is NGN100,000.00
  4. There is no limit to the maximum number of transactions per day.
  5. If your prepaid account balance is not sufficient enough to transfer the requested amount, you’ll receive an error message and the transfer will not go through.
  6. For postpaid customers, your account must be positive whenever you’re performing this transaction.  The transaction will not go through if it is negative. For example, if you have an account balance of NGN -500.00, the transaction will not go through regardless of the amount being transferred.

There are two methods of transferring airtime using this feature – SMS, through USSD.

Upon doing this, you’ll receive an SMS asking you to further confirm the transfer you’re making by sending YES to 777.

If you’re transferring airtime using USSD, dial *777* Recipient’s Number* Amount* PIN# on your phone and then click on OK. for example, dial *777* 09067543213* 1000* 1234# and then click the OK button. When the transfer has been completed, you will get a confirmation message telling you of the successful transaction.
