Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Price in Nigeria and Features
I remember vividly the race that followed the unveiling, launch, and release of the iPhone 13 series (Omor! It was bloody).
Well, it is my displeasure to tell you that another catastrophe is looming around the corner (and it is not Ukraine vs Russia).
Apple is about to unveil the newest member of the iPhone family and this article is going to lead you into every need-to-know detail about it.
Is the iPhone 14 series worth the hype? Or should we just stick with our iPhone 13 series? One thing is certain, Apple is definitely going all out with this one.
It is being said that one should not be in competition with others but with the previous version of oneself.
So, therefore, we’ll be doing some comparisons between the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and its forerunner (iPhone 13 pro max)
As usual, this post is going to be divided into various subheadings as we carefully dissect the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Please note that every feature given here is just speculation and is subject to change since the phone itself is still undergoing massive developments.
The Design of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
As we all know, the iPhone 13 Pro Max came with a sexy slim body (6.33 x 3.07 x 0.30 inches, 240g in weight) having curves in all the right places.
While the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is coming with a sleeker look (6.33 x 3.07 x 0.28 inches, 228g in weight).
We can see here that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is much slimmer and lighter than the iPhone 13 pro max.
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max is also coming with a back made of glass but the frame is made of titanium (instead of the stainless steel of its forerunner).
It is also water and dust resistant with a good IP rating (ip68). The rumored colors are silver, graphite, gold, and pacific blue.
One rumored key feature in the design section is the under-display Touch ID (can I get an Amen somebody?) in addition to the advanced Face ID.
The Display of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
Apple hasn’t really made any major modifications to the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max. if there’s going to be any change, it’s probably going to be minute.
So, we have the OLED screen which is 6.7 inches in size, having a screen resolution of 1284 x 2778 pixels with a 120Hz ProMotion display.

The display resolution is still around 458 PPI with an aspect ratio of 19:5:9.
The rumored key feature in the display section is the removal of the notch screen (imagine a notch-less screen). What we’re expecting is a hole-and-pill display.
This hole-and-pill display emerged in schematics on the Chinese social media site Weibo and was later shared by Prosser.
The Camera of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
As we hinted earlier, there might likely be a hole-and-pill display. The pill-shaped cutout will house the front camera which is likely to be 12MP and the Face ID camera.
The hole-shaped cutout will house the Face ID dot projector. There’ll be a triple-lens camera feature at the rear but without the usual camera bump. According to Prosser, the body is going to be thick enough to hold all the camera hardware without “an annoying bump”.
The rumored key feature in the camera section is the 48MP wide lens. And it is attached to its usual 12MP ultrawide and 12MP telephoto feature.
The video and camera capabilities include zoom and focal length. There are very minute differences from the iPhone 13 Pro Max model in this regard.
The Performance and Storage of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
The rumored key feature in this section is the introduction of the A16 Bionic chip which is a better upgrade from the A15 chip on the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The chip is expected to move from the 5nm process node to a 4nm node.
The CPU Processor is still the same hexa-core model as the predecessor.
There’s likely going to be a distinct hike in processor speed, graphics, and neural processing performance because of the new chip.
Let’s not forget the iOS 15.4 operating system which is an upgrade from the iOS 15 of iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The amazing ability of this OS is that it has the added advantage of unlocking your phone even with your face mask on.
There’s also the possibility of an increase in RAM and storage. If this is true, we shouldn’t expect any challenge multi-tasking.
This is because the iPhone 14 Pro Max is probably coming with an 8GB extension on the RAM while we’re expecting storage of probably 1TB to 2TB to support this RAM.
As usual, we don’t expect any dedicated SD card slot
The Battery, Cellular, and Connectivity of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
The first expected feature of the cellular section is the 5G chip which gives it the ability to run a 5G bandwidth although most networks in Nigeria don’t have such connectivity yet.
This is in addition to the regular 4G, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VoLTE, wireless charging, and USB.
Whether the USB will be the USB-C type (since most newly released apple devices already come with this feature) or the regular lightning type is still being speculated. What we can confirm is whichever it will be, it will have the fast-charging feature.
There is also the rumored Wi-Fi 6E adoption.
As for the battery, there is no rumored update. So, we expect the usual battery capacity (4352 mAh, non-removable) or even bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
If, not anything, the iPhone 14 Pro Max should outlast its predecessor in standby time.
The Release Date and Price of Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max
Apple isn’t very generous with information regarding their new releases, especially the dates.
But judging from previous models, we can safely say that the iPhone 14 Pro Max will probably debut around September-October, 2022.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max has entered into trial production at this point. And this is an important step in the phone’s manufacturing process.
The idea is to finalize a device’s design and calibrate testing machines for quality assurance. There is also the identification of any issues with the manufacturing process.
As for the price, the rumor is around $999. For those of us in Nigeria, we could be talking about #500,000 (minus shipping fee and other expenses).
